Before you buy

Your setup, explained.

Choose a machine, a network and the heads your guests use. Compare the essentials here. Open the details when you need more.

1. The engine

Choose what runs the experience.

Slim for value. One for demanding venue content. Hydramancer for development, agents and contributing network capacity.

Machine prices exclude VAT. Necks and heads are separate.

Plan one machine per station today. Serving several stations from one machine is in development.

2. The network

Choose for the room, and whether it moves.

Neck Slim

One machine in one zone. A compact, pre-configured Wi-Fi 7 router with 6 GHz, one 2.5 Gbps LAN port and one 2.5 Gbps WAN port.

From €500 excl. VAT

Neck Box

Pop-ups, tours and events. Router, 8-port managed switch and one enterprise 6 GHz access point in a flight case, with cabling and power.

€7,500 excl. VAT

Neck Fixed

A permanent venue. Site survey, placement plan, router, managed PoE switch, cabling and one ceiling access point. Installation quoted separately.

€7,500 base, excl. VAT

Box and Fixed each include one access point and network documentation. Additional access points and on-site installation are quoted per site. Every Neck supports WireGuard remote access, SSH and an API.

Allow 250 Mbps per VR head or 25 Mbps per screen or iPad on the experience network. VR needs 6 GHz Wi-Fi 6E or better, with access points inside the experience zone.

3. What guests use

Built for shared use.

For venue VR, we recommend the Pico 4 Ultra Enterprise (16 GB): around €1,060 excl. VAT per head. Guests need no personal account. Kiosk mode keeps the experience in view, fleet management handles settings and updates, and the face padding can be wiped between sessions.

Headset specification

2160 × 2160 pixels per eye at 90 Hz, pancake lenses, 105° field of view, adjustable IPD of 58–72 mm. Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB storage and Wi-Fi 7. Hand tracking, ringless controllers and colour passthrough. 580 g, 5700 mAh battery and 45 W fast charging. No eye tracking or integrated DisplayPort.

Charging, cleaning and spare heads

Plan for around 3–4 hours of use and roughly 3 hours to charge. Rotate heads through charging or use tethered fixed stations for a full day. Keep one spare for every five heads in service. Ten active heads means budgeting for twelve.

Allow for wipe-downs, disposable covers, protective skins and security tethers. Keep lenses away from direct sunlight, including at the charging rack.

The full picture

Budget beyond the machine.

Machine prices cover the configured Hydra. Add a Neck or a suitable existing network, heads, and any on-site installation. Venue content and the ongoing service agreement are separate.

Indicative first-year budget per VR head, excluding VAT
ItemBudget
Pico 4 Ultra EnterpriseAround €1,060
Pre-configuration and enrolmentAround €18
MDM fleet management licenceFrom around €156 per head, per year
Hygiene, skin, tether and share of chargingAround €140
First-year totalAround €1,375 per head

Add spare heads and ongoing consumables. MDM is a recurring cost.

Example: one VR station. Hydra Slim (€4,922) + Neck Slim (from €500) + one head’s first-year budget (around €1,375) = around €6,800 excl. VAT. This is a planning estimate, before spare heads, installation, venue content and ongoing service.

A closer look

Practical details.

Can we use our existing venue network?

Yes, if it provides a dedicated experiencenet VLAN, 6 GHz coverage and sustained bandwidth of 250 Mbps per VR head or 25 Mbps per flat head. Support also needs scoped read-only API access to the relevant access points, switches and controller, a secure remote access path, and notice of network changes. Your IT team keeps control of the network.

Do we need fiber internet?

Local machines can serve local heads without a fiber uplink. Fiber is needed for the edge capacity described in our network guide: backup when a local machine fails, or extra capacity for busy days. Plan for sustained 250 Mbps per remote VR stream with stable latency. Availability and the capacity agreement need to be established for your site.

What arrives configured, and what is extra?

Hydra machines arrive with Omarchy and the Hydra stack configured and join the network out of the box. Connect power, network and heads. Necks and heads are separate purchases. On-site installation is a separate service. Windows 11 Pro is an alternative to Omarchy, on request and at additional cost.

What does support cover?

Every machine includes three-year onsite hardware support. Intel vPro and HP Remote System Control enable recovery below the operating system, including a remote reinstall. The ongoing venue service level and content bundle are agreed separately. Box and Fixed networks come with as-built documentation, including the network plan and support contacts.

Can a Hydramancer machine run my venue?

It uses the same processor and graphics as Hydra One, with more RAM and storage for creative tools and agents. Its agreement covers development and capacity contribution. Operating a guest venue requires a separate venue service and content arrangement. Choose Slim or One for that use.

How do I order, and what still needs a quote?

Email your machine choice, station count, head types and whether the venue is fixed or mobile. Include your delivery location and target opening date. Extra access points, installation, content and ongoing service are quoted for the venue.

Delivery times, shipping charges, payment and return terms are not published in the product notes. Confirm these in your quote before ordering. Orders are currently arranged by email.
